A Luminary of Words and Deeds

Ramesh Mofleh Hussaini is a poet whose pen shines like a sword of light in the darkness of time; a profound writer, a discerning literary figure, a passionate orator, a visionary economist, a devoted educator, and a fearless advocate for women’s rights. Like a migratory bird, she took flight from the blossoming land of Kabul and inscribed Afghanistan’s name as an eternal star in the distant skies.

She is the founder of the first home school in Afghanistan, when education had to survive hidden like a treasure within homes. Then, she established Clinton Online School to bring knowledge like a flowing river to the farthest shores. And in continuation of this fruitful path, she laid the foundation of the first service complex for Afghan women – a safe haven for liberated souls seeking peace amidst the storms of inequality.

From her magical pen, books have blossomed like spring flowers: “Afghan Woman in Space”, which takes the dream of an Afghan woman’s flight to the galaxies; “Garden of Dreams”, a garden full of the scent of aspirations; “Sun of Herat”, which shines the light of Herat in the reader’s heart; “Stardust and Sorrow”, a melancholic whisper of beauty and pain.

And now, on the threshold of the new year, two fresh works emerge like two pure gems from the treasure chest of her heart: “From Kabul to New York”, a true and touching narrative of a migrant soul’s journey – from the memory-laden streets and earthy scent of Kabul to the bustling and bright streets of New York. This book is a strong bridge between two generations: one born in exile, distanced from their mother tongue – Persian and Pashto. Ramesh strives with this work, like a shining lamp, to reconnect the roots to their hearts’ soil and keep the Afghan identity alive in their hearts.

“Love That I Don’t Have” is an enchanting collection of love poems; part in Persian, Herati ghazals and do-beytis that are intoxicating like old wine, and part in English, whispering the longing for an unattainable love in exile – a love that shines like a distant star but never settles in an embrace.

Dear friends and fellow countrymen, in these blessed winter days, as the world awaits the light and joy of Christmas, my heart is filled with joy to announce these two luminous gifts to you. These two books will soon fly like free birds on all global platforms and settle in your hands – a small gift from me in these auspicious days.

With wishes of endless light and joy for all of you,

Ramesh MoflehHussaini
